Project Summary
Reimagining Manchester City's badge to have more character than the current one. The eagle was there for key moments for the clubs history.
- Seeing the club win its first trophy in 35 years in 2011
- Humiliating Manchester United 6-1 at Old Trafford in 2011, a defining moment for the club.
- First Premier League title in 2012, Sergio Agüero scores in the 95th minute against QPR to win the match 3-2 and the league title. Making it one of the most iconic moments in the Premier League's history.
16% of Manchester City's British fanbase is aged 18-29, while 16% are aged 30 or older. Meaning the older fans vividly remember this turning point, and the younger fans growing up with this eagle, defining their love for the game and club.
I wanted to captivate the golden eagle in a modern way, with making the wings symmetrical and creating negative space between the feathers to enhance its versatility within the brand world. Then taking it a step further, and designing a full eagle, which can also be used as additional brand recognition for the club. This then gives more to the fans and to the character of the badge.
